Much like Rosie the Riveter, the War Bride symbolized the change in the way society looked upon women’s roles.
Much like Rosie the Riveter, the War Bride symbolized the change in the way society looked upon women’s roles.
Rosie the Riveter help start the Women's Rights Movement, allowing women to take start working next men in jobs that seemed "unfit" for them. Rosie helped change the mindset that women belonged at home cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. The War Bride helped women to become more independent. The War Bride gave women a sense of adventure, as they followed their soldiers towards unknown territory, the United States. Leaving behind everything they once knew, the women spent their time learning new cities, making new friends, missing their family and starting up their own family all at once.
